Application and fees

The choice of whether to aim for the MEng or BEng degree does not need to be made until the end of your third year of study, although you can decide which route to take when you apply.

The BEng is the traditional route to an engineering degree. It takes 4 years. The MEng requires further two years of training to complete the individual study, project work and to defend a Master thesis. Both degree options allow for a prestigious position in industry and vehicle maintenance, but MEng has a privilege in R&D.

The training of BEng students is carried out in SUAI mainly in Russian. Foreigners can learn Russian at the Russian Language Courses (from 4 weeks to 6 months) or at Preliminary Training Department that provides the teaching of Russian language and selected chapters of mathematics, physics and informatics. The program offered by this department lasts one year. The tuition fee for 1 year at Preliminary Preparation Department is 130,000 RUR.

The fee for BEng training in Russian medium in 2020 is around 100,000 RUR per semester.

The training of MEng students may be carried out in Russian or in English medium. In the last case the student makes application to IIAAT of SUAI. The fee for MEng training in English medium is $ 8,500 – 9,500 per year depending on a number of students in a group and the individual theme for Master thesis. The payment could be done by bank transfer in USD or Euro according the agreement between IIAAT of SUAI and any foreign enterprise or person. The application has to be sent to IIAAT.

If you want to study in Russian Medium, you can communicate with the Institute for International Educational Programs (IIEP of SUAI).

The fee for accommodation in the SUAI hostel or private apartments rent in the city is around 10,000 RUR/Month. The ordinary expenses for everyday meals and local transport in Saint-Petersburg may be around 20,000 RUR/Month.

The list of themes for individual Master training in English medium is available in IIAAT.

The fee for PhD training in English medium in IIAAT is $ 10,000 – 12,000 per year depending on the theme.

Short-term scientific training and summer traineeship for foreign students is also available.

Application for any training in IIAAT can be firstly sent by e-mail to Prof. Alexander Nebylov in a voluntary short form. Then you will be asked to send the scanned copy of documents and passport data for it.
